Mankind Commits Suicide; Market Celebrates

(This essay was published by this author in many internet discussion groups in Nov. 2007)

Massively and globally infected by the parasite called MODERN MAN—a species that has outgrown the human species--the great grand human tree is falling

Man gave birth to machine. Market, as the middleman in modern history, joined man and machine to give birth to a new combination-- man-machine--called the Modern Man. The process of this machination continued to the full mechanization of mankind to MACHINE-KIND, rendering the age fully mechanical.

Market, by using the non-cyclic Modern Science and Modern Art (some prefer to call them as analytical science and analytical philosophy, respectively) and, thus by tampering with the millions of year long natural cyclic process, has created a vicious cycle, and that is where we are all in: the Modern Society.

However no machine can sustain--let alone reproduce--itself. Every machine has an inbuilt program for its own destruction. The modern man-machine is no exception, which, as a unique species, is on the verge of extinction today.

Machination of Mankind

Machination of mankind started at the moment when man became a professional and encouraged others to become professionals-- mechanical (or the machine-like beings) for the sustenance of his own way of life--professionalism. Thus man became a parasite of the same species. Globalization of machination made the whole mankind a giant social machine.
The living is sustained by eating the live; the non-living, like the machine, is sustained or fueled by the dead or non-living food. Thus man should eat live food whereas machine is run by the dead fossils (fuels). Modern man prefers the dead food like the junk food and highly processed and other synthetic foods, because he is mostlymechanical and leastly, human.
Degenerating Mankind and the fast Shrinking Options

Today man is doing all things in the wrong way simply because there is no option left to do it in the right way. What frightens me is not merely the fact that America had to kill Saddam Hussein to bring peace to the world, but the fact that it simply had no other option left.
Mankind is committing suicide. And Market is celebrating it by toying in the arts, the sciences, the media, the judiciary, the politicians, the experts, the voluntary organizations…. For the first time in history, man is suicidally caught in a deadly vicious circle of his own making, from which not even the leaders seem to find any way out. George W. Bush, Tony Blair, Vladamin Putin, Bill Gates,….. are all being functioning as the puppets, being operated by the force of the `current' of this vicious cycle. It is a fact that only the right leadership can develop a right society. The problem today is that man has only helpless leader-- leaders with no options to do the right things. This means the whole society is vitiated and thus the society can prop up only wrong leaders. We have seen that the whole modern society itself is highly vitiated and is on the verge of demise with the vitiation havingreached the extreme chronic stage.
Human society, as a whole, is treading without on agenda. Badly and suicidally caught in the current of this giant vicious circle, man is led more by his passivity than by his activity.

Ignorance is Knowledge divided: the Growing De-knowledge Process
For millions of years, man used to live in exploiting nature, by feeding on it which is a very simple method for which not much training is needed. However, in modern history, man lives by exploiting and feeding, not on nature, but on another man, which, however, is a complex and complicated process for which muchtraining and `know-how' is needed. This being a fraud process, in which much has to be done in denying the right knowledge and information to the exploited party by the exploitive party. This explains the hectic spreading much ignoratism and disinformation today. The process is a one-up game. The modern education process isindeed a cumulative process of adding more and more years to such real de-knowledge process.

It is a pity that man, despite being the pride and the crown of all creation and also being the longest living species of the planet earth since millions of years, has however to leave the planet earth prematurely. It is not because of the overgrowth of human population or the shrinking of life resources which are some of the popularreasoning which many would like us to believe. It is precisely because, in modern history, man, in his marathon race to develop `technics' – he calls it science or know–how–for exploiting and feeding on his co-species, lost his real knowledge or `know how' to live in nature which he used to do for millions of year. So, beit 7 billions people or 7 people on planet earth, the number simply does not matter so far as he lost the natural rhythm to live, and that he has to go extinct.

Today, because man has become such a liability to himself and has became a parasite that even as a single human being, he is unable to perform the role of man, and thus he has become unfit to live in nature.

The Invisible World Leadership
The leader of all leaders is the Mr. Invisible. He is not any President, Prime Minister, King or Queen. Nor is he the Pope nor the Mullah, nor he the richest man nor any Nobel Laureate. All these categories of leaders however are just the servants of this super leader. Then, who is he? Certainly, he is not a human being. Bible described him as the Lucifer. Mary Shelly called him the Frankenstein. However, in reality, he is what we see him everywhere today : as the Mr. Helplessness, the Mr. Passivity, the Mr. Ignorance, the Mr. Optionlessness…etc.

Vitiation of Leadership
It is a fact that only the right leadership can develop a right society. The problem today is that man has only helpless leader-- leaders with no options to do the right things. This means the whole society is vitiated and thus the society can prop up only wrong leaders. We have seen that the whole modern society itself is highly vitiated and is on the verge of demise with the vitiation having become much chronic.

Why the society today has exhausted its ability to elect good leaders? In 1984, the renowned historian and two-time Pulitzer Prize- winner Barbara Tuchman published "The March of Folly," a book about how, over and over again, great powers undermine and sabotage themselves. She documented the perverse self-destructiveness ofempires that clung to deceptive ideologies in the face of contrary evidence, that spent carelessly and profligately, and that obstinately refused to change course even when impending disaster was obvious to those willing to see it. Such recurrent self-deception.

We are suicidally foolish
Today we have created a Frankenstein that frightens us at every step. This Frankenstein is the giantification of our follies and our weakness. We thus fear our own follies. Corruption or other social fouling was not a problem when it was localized and controllable, or when it could be understood and recognized as such--not like today when it is practiced globally, not only as the only option left but also that it has become such popular that it is unrecognizable as corruption. The corruption of society has been so mechanized and methodized, and suchmaterialistic pursuit of wealth so conditioned into the culture for so many years, that the chronic symptoms of the disease have mutated into full-fledged epidemics crystallized as passivity, obesity, cancer, hypertension etc.. …

It's human nature to believe that things will continue as they usually have, and that we'll once again somehow stumble intact through our looming crises. At the same time, it's hard to imagine a plausible scenario in which the society regains its equilibrium, if at all it may regain, without first going through major convulsionsat a unique unsafe time when highly catastrophic powder kegs, mainly environmental and numbering tens of thousands, are spread all over.

Passivity and Americans
And, at long last, the last bastion too falls: Americans too are increasingly caught under the fear phobia. Long accustomed to frighten the world at large under false alarm and under false omen (as part of their strategy), Americans who, in reality, used to be courageous, well-informed, spontaneous and very timely responding tohuman dangers today seem to be caving into the fear phobia. Being well-informed—and much in advance, thanks to their superior intelligence work-- Americans used to be much immunized against the virus of pessimism and other false threat. But today, the case is no longer true. Today, 95% of the people all over the Americans, thanks to globalization says `yes' to the prevailing system dictates when they really want to say `no'.

Money, the Evil
If Jesus Christ happened to live today, Coco Cola would definitely have tried to make Him its top brand ambassador. Today all work and pray to God to give them what we all once considered as evil, namely, money. For nobody today works to produce anything for their own use but in producing things for selling toothers to earn money to buy their wants (indirect life style). Today anybody may live without God but not without his `paycheck' or money, the real evil. So the way to salvation is only through EVIL; God is just a means to attain his real `God', namely money, the evil. So he prays to God to give him his daily `bread' (money), byhook or by crook.
Market leadership is money leadership--is Devil leadership: "It you make money your god, it will plague you like a devil", the old saying has come true. The agony of modern man is that he can live only by availing the loan or advances from the market for his moment's escape which later proves to be a false escape leading to sickness and destruction in the near future. This means he cannot live today without guaranteeing his destruction tomorrow.

Modern age is marked by the sharp change of man from being the child of nature and father machine to be the father of nature and to be the child of machine--hi-tech systems.
Truth is never going to be traced, for today it is untruth which is tracing truth today and untruth is his incapable of understanding and recognizing truth, let alone be able to tracking it down.
The British did not colorize the world. The modern science and market did it. And that is why the whole world – including the British, no matter the colonized world hypothetically drove away the British colonizers--- are still in the captivity of science and market. The ongoing Globalization frenzy by the market is a Juggernaut that is out of control, dominated by a corporate world- system that is able to shift resources to any part of the globeregardless of national interests. Apart from that, globalization is destroying the nation-state.

Media: simply another Business
Media only ceased their role as social informers. Ever since their integration with market force and their starting functioning as an industry, it got its role got just reversed: now as the social mis-informers, dis-informers and as the hiders and manipulators of truth and realities. And it is in the manipulation of truth and realities where the making of profit--money-- lies. And an industry is all about making profit.

Today, individual media people are as helpless and as innocent as the people at large. They can only play to the sway of the ongoing trends meticulously being played by the global players and thus remain in business, or they can go out of business and jeopardize their carrier by being independents and by doing justice to truth, realities and to their conscience.

The World on the Run
Exploitation of man by man has been the hallmark of human civilization from immemorial. But it had never reached the suicidal level until the mode of exploitation changed from being physical to spiritual in modern history.

What is wrong in theory cannot be right in practice. Science is basically wrong, be it in minute fraction, mathematically. Modern society is a giant machine exclusively built by modern science and market and it is with loopholes and cracks at every branch and sub branch. And a small leak- let alone many big leaks -- is enough tosink a giant ship.

What America did to planet earth in terms of pollution generation in the last 50 years, India and China are doing to it in five years today. The question is whether the planet will tolerate more `Americas'—the ongoing frenzied modernization drive in the rest world-- particularly at a line when it is surrounded by not much natural recycling zones, as buffer zones, to compensate any further mechanization – throttling of nature. As modernization picks up for the whole planet in one go with the ongoing globalization and liberalization going on a frenzied pitch and as SOS signals seem emanating from here and there, I think the human society in all poised for the impending Big Crunch.

For a while, scientists, mathematicians, engineers and doctors, by controlling nature, baffled mankind through their stunning achievements, discoveries and technologies. Now it is the turn of nature to show its `marvels' and super stunning `techniques', too. The question is whether any scientists, engineers and doctors –and their sponsors-- let alone any ordinary human being, will be left behind in the ensuing melee to witness the great nature's show.

Progression of ignorance renders lasting solution almost impossible
The greatest dilemma of the time is that we can destroy the human society without its knowledge and consent, whereas it is impossible to save man with his knowledge and consent because, in this age of all sorts of massive exploitation of man by man, all sorts of false `prophets'—phony saviors and fake problem solvers who always win with false promises and sure betrayals, have thus immunized the whole society against all genuine attempt in helping mankind or saving them. Further, the cognition capacity of modern man to understand wholesome truth is fast getting reduced today as the machine-like species has only the higher compartmentalized and specialized mindset. Modern man is expert in being micro right even as he remains macro wrong which is far beyond his micro vision to recognize.

Despite being bluntly exploitive the mechanized part of the planet earth and the mechanized part for the artificial of the human society used to be well taken care of by the larger non-mechanized part (natural part) of the planet earth and human society since the last 200 years. The exploitation (by the highly mechanized world still continues with more force and speed, but what is not happening is the `taking care of'. For the fast globalization that is taking place at a frenzied pitch since the last two decades has not left any part of the planet earth natural or non-mechanized. Now, in order to be taken care of by nature, we urgently need to immigrate to some non-mechanized part of the world which seem to be only outside the planet earth, like the moon or the planet Venus.

And who will inherit the Earth?
The sons and daughters of mother earth and, the sons and daughters of natures will inherit the earth. The sons of machine never will, for they have no base.

Yes, I have enough evidence – as personal experience--to regard the above conclusions as correct. "The survival of the human race depends on its ability to find new homes elsewhere in the universe because there's an increasing risk that a disaster will destroy the Earth, and that humans should have a permanent base on the moon in 20 years and a colony on Mars in the next 40 years.", said Stephen Hawking, the greatest scientist of our time and the author of the global best seller A Brief History of Time. One of the best-known theoretical physicists of his generation, Hawking, who was on a lecture tour in Hong Kong, was speaking to the press on June05, 2006, according to an Associated Press report. He has done groundbreaking research on black holes and the origins of the universe, proposing that space and time have no beginning and no end. "We won't find anywhere as nice as Earth unless we go to another star system and start settlement in anotherplanet" Hawking added.

Earlier, 1,300 leading scientists from 95 countries who published a detailed assessment of the state of the world at the start of the new millennium had concluded: "Earth's life support system is disintegrating; the modern society is literally undoing the work of organic evolution; the institutions we have created are destroying the livability of the whole world. Planet Earth stands on the cusp of disaster and people should no longer take it for granted that their children and grandchildren will survive in the environmentally degraded world of the 21st century."As is evident, the above central observations are not the doom-laden talk of green activists. Until recently, the talk of any possible global collapse or big crunch was the preserve of lunatics and cults. In the past few years, however, an increasing number of intelligent and credible people have been warning that global collapse is a genuine possibility. And many of them are great, sober scientists, including Lord May, David King and Jared Diamond —people not usually given to exaggeration or drama.

As for the condition of man today, his position in society seems much frightening. Human resource, the world discovers, has today become a liability, not an asset. Sometimes it feels cruel that we are proceeding at a breakneck speed towards more sophisticated automation when labour is so cheap and the unemployment situation so acute. Even after getting employed with much effort or luck, we are also seeing a disturbing trend where one can be gainfully employed only for a very short time. By the time one approaches the late 30's one can sense the pink slip approaching. Career opportunities for the middle aged are restricted. The board room is getting younger by the day with young recruits occupying senior positions. The future seems bleak. To keep up with the times, one has to earn fast and earn the maximum while the going is good. All our efforts at framing a corruption-less society may well be a dream. Honesty and ethics are all loads on the shoulder; they have to be offloaded in order to progress in the "right direction". Honesty is no longer the best policy; it is a millstone around the neck. It is no surprise to realize to fast emerging fact that man everywhere today has come to increasingly think that he has no future. Never in the history of mankind has man faced such a pathetic state of his society when he, along with his global leaders and even his religions have all come to be led by such a pathetic force called the market force.

More terrifying is the news from the human health front. A decade ago, Clifton Meador, MD, director of the Meharry Vanderbilt Alliance in Nashville, predicted that it wouldn't be long before there wasn't a single healthy person left in the United States. Now his forecast might have come to fruition."I don't know the last time I saw areally well person," said Dr. Meador, "Everybody's got something." "Are we all sick?" Doctors debate "medicalization" of life. Human conditions previously thought of as normal now warrant treatment. Medical guidelines are being expanded. And genetic tests are turning more people into patients.

Obesity alone is killing an average of about 30, 00, 00 Americans every year and the figure is steadily increasing. Now if we take the toll by diabetes and cancer, the twin diseases for which obesity in the prime cause, the death figure may well exceed a million in America alone, in a single year alone. That almost 60 percent of American population today suffers from obesity is the most startling news of all. This ratio of disease and death may roughly be the same for the whole world with globalization being the order of the day.And far more frightening are the news emanating about health affairs of the very doctors who treat the global population. The latest fact that doctors die much earlier than the common people speak volumesfor the malice and confusion gripping the present social going of human society. Indian Medical Association (Kerala branch), in its Annual Working Report 2006 revealed this disturbing survey details: "When the average life expectancy of people of Kerala (a state with 30 million people) is 72, the average life expectancy ofdoctors in Kerala has come down to 55.", according to newspaper Mathrubhumy July01, 2006. That the fast falling health of professionals, due to the prevalence of degeneration.

The Degeneration of Mankind
This is about the sudden and across-the- board degeneration that has set in on the species man as a whole inmodern history, which is all set to mark the end of mankind as a species. Or, it is about the modern social development and as to how man and nature, contrary to their co-existence for millions of years as mutually interconnected and interdependent, have suddenly entered on a collision course in modern history, and embarked on its eventual and inevitable fallout.

The concept describing the "degeneration" of Man is inseparable from that of the evolution of Man. In truth, people of the modern world have been taught to view the history of mankind almost entirely upside-down. We speak of "the rise of Man" and assume "the ignorance of ancient peoples", when in actual fact nothing could be more the contrary. From a more objective point of view, the history of mankind on this Earth has apparently been a progressive descent or degeneration; a degeneration which appears to have reached it's nadir in exactly this period in which we are now living.

Degenerating life sources
In 2020, we may well be asking not, "Why we didn't go to Venus?" but "Why did we go to moon when we couldn't protect earth?" Mind and matter, man and nature are interconnected and interdependent. At the dawn of civilization when man was hunting and gathering food, nature remained almost undisturbed. During the ageof settled agricultural life, irrigation schemes were developed and the face of nature was modified to a certain extent. The industrial revolution brought about further changes with excessive exploitation of natural resources and mass production. The twentieth century, which boasts of 90% of the scientists the world has ever produced, has ushered in the Nuclear Age and the Space Age.

Thus we see how human ideas have brought about vast changes in nature, to such an extent that Nature's purifying, rejuvenating and replenishing capacities have been outstripped by man's activity of exploitation, causing unprecedented pollution and impoverishment. Then there developed other types of degeneration, like moral, mental, intellectual, sexual degenerations. When moral degeneration becomes rampant in society, it causes adverse changes in the human body and in our environment. Moral degeneration causes the loss ofbeauty in the human personality and depletion of natural food resources in the external world. These adverse repercussions are proportionate to the extent of moral degradation.

War and natural calamities, epidemics of fatal diseases seem the only solution. Or is it? That is a question no one likes to answer, but the answer stares us in the face. There is no escaping it. As for the new doomsayers, they all point to the same collection of threats — climate change, resource depletion and spreading diseasesbeing the most important. What makes them especially afraid is that many of these dangers are interrelated, with one tending to exacerbate the others. It is necessary to tackle them all at once if we are to have any chance of avoiding global collapse, they warn.

When Stephen Hawking published, in 1988, the global best seller A Brief History of Time, which contained none of the above kind of dangers, this author had written and published the book, Story of Man—Layman, in New Delhi in 1990 (released by then Indian Prime Minister, Chandra Shekhar) which not only contained most of theabove observations--literally--but also brought out the basic reason behind these imminent catastrophic developments. So, if this author did put forward in 1990 what the greatest scientists and futurists of our times could consider only some 16 years later, I think, I have enough evidence – as personal experience--regarding the soundness of my present conclusions, as well.

The prophetic accuracy of this thesis: Released by then Indian Prime Minister Chandra Sekhar in Jan 1991, and received by the national press and other prominent authors, including then American ambassador to India, this book predicted almost all major global events that took place from 1991 till today. As a document of prophetic accuracy, the theses portrayed a professional as victim of conditioned methods with virtually no conscience as mechanization deprives him of the luxury of possessing a soul or humanist conscience. He has to do things business as usual, and whatever he does becomes his profession which then becomes more important thanhimself or his fellowmen and which then vitiate him to the extent that, modern man says "he has no time to take his time". Man ends up a victim of his profession, his pre-set goals and conditioned methods which simply deprive him the freedom to look at things differently, and thus deprives him the luxury of different optionsor different angles of visions in finding solutions. And these are what this author predicted as the Dangers of Professionalism that did happened as the major global events over these years from 1991 till today. What prevented to stop the attacks on the U.S. of September 11, 2001 or what prompted to execute this attack, wasindeed the dirty works of professionals, called experts and advisers, and what prevented America to foresee or get wind of the much inside America trained and executed terrorists acts was again professionalism or careerism practiced by the very professionals in respective intelligence wings in America, as has been vindicated by later studies.

And, the basic reason for this imminent catastrophic development, which I advanced then was PROFESSIONALISM, which however was not only considered aboon and something positive at that time. But today professionalismhas come under attack by many meaningful intellectuals andscientists. For more on professionalism, please click on to:http://www.fireflysun.com/book/john.php

From pages 8,9,10,11,12..of Story of Man—Layman published in 1990:

"Humanity is at the crossroads; turning to every direction, it shudders", reads the book's very back cover

……."Today man is at the threshold of an emerging NEW CIVILIZATION; only the blind forces of professional expertise is suppressing it, with the result that a new counter-revolution is lashing man…….."Having breached all permissible barriers, worldly wisdom, in its latest incarnation as PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE (life reduced to marketized careerism or life commercialized by techniques), has cometo dominate such sacred human fields as his thought, belief, science, and literally all his social systems. It is today helplessly left holding its babies: the mechanized thinking, the mechanized religion, the mechanized SCIENCE, and all politics, ethics, aesthetics, arts, crafts and state-craft--all thoroughly mechanized. All these mechanized components of man and his world— which are on a further proliferation race (thanks to thespecializations and expertise that his professionalism has come to perfect)—are without life, degenerating and sending SOS signals from everywhere. After getting bogged down in the jargons of expertise, the world and the experts themselves are furthwer getting badly bogged down—in the resultant vicious circles…………

…….."science itself has become party in perpetuating such unscientific practices….. The tragic result is that science today has menacingly outgrown man and all his beloved systems. Science is simply out of human control now. IT is virtually holding man to ransom, by giving him more perilous problems and questions thantoday's man or science itself can understand, let alone solve…………...

" Professional expertise is the number one enemy of new ideas and the creative growth. It has in the process also crippled its very mentors, namely, the establishments and their infrastructures…………

"A stage reaches when the helpless establishment and its outgrown expertise fail to develop the NEXT GENERATION PROFESSIONALS and EXPERTS to attend to the newly created more serious problems; for any professionals and experts that outgrow the establishment soon begin to degenerate: professionals and experts tent to be synthetics (as self-centered careerists) when there is no real creative human brain to supervise them and the world……….(Page 66…Just consider the prophetic accuracy of this 1990 foreboding coming to vindicate the ongoing degeneration of the US agencies and institutions, leading to their failure to stop the September11, 2001 terror strike in New York, as the latest visible example. It is all the story of the result of DEGENERATION of professionalism of US various security agencies as well as that of the present global leadership themselves.)..

………."All indications are that we have reached that stage: cults of specializations seem to be backfiring from all directions..(Page-67)

…."After having been let off from the long muddle and predicament, the post-cold war world was all agog when suddenly, as a bolt from the blue, Saddam Hussain struck; it now looks miserably crestfallen. For, today, the most expertised and sophisticated world, with all means and armed to the teeth to face and contain a million Saddam Hussains, has suddenly come to realize to its great horror that it is very chicken-hearted when suddenly a single Saddam decides to take on it head on. ; that the world many experts helped to build, seems to be all a house of cards; that every Saddam Hussain, as the big bull in the expertise-pitch forked world china shops, seems to be capable of instantly throwing the world totally out of gear………….……….

"By handing over this lively, wonderful world to professionals and experts, we have literally burned our bridges: we can neither go forward nor backward. All our hitherto attempt to fight this menace have only helped to aggravate it further, for the fight itself is being taken up again by the experts and professionals only. We are left with no other options as they have come to outgrow all our systems, and finally, ourselves……….

……"Market bought power to command a world it simply cannot control now; it bought wise men and wisdom in the wholesale that it simply cannot understand now; market aroused titillations and hope it just cannot fulfill today. Wise men have all gone with the environment turning hostile to them; what are left today are all their know-how, professionals, experts and scores of `intelligent machines that the market produced with the help of those late wise men……

"But now, with most of the onlookers, common man and audience all getting dumfounded, and the time running out, it is only these super performers who, it seems, can afford some respite and hence my attempt to invite their attention. I have my eyes on the smart alecks and skeptics here, the mandarins of the world, the peoplebehind the bestsellers, or simply the members of the world governing board." ( Page 11)

"Today the burning questions are : How long can we continue sweeping things under the carpet? How long can we continue basking under illusion and Vanity fairs? How long can we go on depending on these telltale accounts? How long we can continue making virtues of necessities? How long can a large part of the globe be kept on `doles'? And how long can the right thinking world continue turning a Nelson's eye to realities?"…………

" Yes, this is a `REVOLUTION'—a revolution not forced by man, but forced on man; not accomplished by man, but his long non- accomplishment having come recoiling on him……….Only one part of the Revolution is now over—namely, the `left' part, the Eastern part of the `developed'…(hinting what is now going on is the Western part of the Revolution lashing the `developed'…page122)

Waste Veneration Society

The regenerative ability of the serpent to extend its life by shedding its skin periodically is for the primary purpose of removing external parasites. Snakes shed the outer layer of skin (a process known as sloughing) in a single piece, unlike mammals who are continuously shedding skin cells. (Most household dust is made up of the sloughed skin of humans!). This periodic renewal has led to the snake being a symbol of healing and medicine. As a ‘social animal’, mankind suffers because of the heavy load of the parasitic social decadents--degenerate systems like religion, government, mechanical social systems that have been overruling them since long. He will benefit most if he can, like some reptiles shed their skin, get rid of these parasitic and degenerate systems. Man lived for millions of years without these mechanical systems and thus faced no catastrophic problems that threatened his extinction, as a species, then.

As modern man, when we are traveling in the Jet Age and in the spaceship or sailing through the turbulent oceans, and is caught in diabolic whirlwinds, as is the case today, any individual escape is meaningless and even futile. In order to make our co-travelers understand the problem of the present going, we have to speak a language understandable to all the jet-age travelers. We are part of the problem and we speak from within the perimeters of the closed box of the problem (highly mechanized societal systems) we live in modern society, which includes its methodologies, all of which however constitute hardly much less than one percent of the real cognition process. So the real world lies much outside of us, much outside the modern society. I think this heavy poisonous and lifeless load has resulted to severe the evolutionary link between the human and the modern man and thus we miserally fail to convey the real crucial message.

In this context, an often quoted Sufi parable comes to my minds. Sufi stories are full of humor, but these stories are said to have seven layers of meaning that speak to us at different developmental stages of our life."One dark night a dervish was passing a dry well when he heard a cry for help from below. 'What is the matter?' he called down. 'I am a grammarian, and I have unfortunately fallen, due to my ignorance of the path, into this deep well, in which I am now all but immobilized,' responded the other. 'Hold friend, and I'll fetch a ladder and a rope,' said the dervish. 'One moment, please!' said the grammarian. 'Your grammar and diction are faulty; be good enough to amend them.' 'If that is so much more important than the essentials,' shouted the dervish, 'you had best stay where you areuntil I have learned to speak properly.' And he went [on] his way"Here, what is the relationship between this Sufi story and humankind's ability to remember ourindigenous pathways toward knowing and understanding? Overall this story is making reference to the dark night of the scholar, which Jurgen W. Kremer has described as ". . . a descent into the darkness and chaos thus far excommunicated from the field of legitimate inquiry" ; this descent is represented by the grammarian falling into the well. The grammarian represents the received epistemological (ways of knowing) paradigm of EuroAmerican science, whose analytic orientation has become so all consuming that it has become an end in itself. It is this ignorance of theepistemological path or our pathways to knowing that has resulted in the grammarian's misfortune of falling into a dry well from which he cannot escape. The dervish in this story represents those of us that are wandering through the darkness in search of deeper and more highly integrated patterns of wholeness. This search for wholeness is also the search for relationship, the search for family, and the hope of keeping a marriage together. The grammarian is unable to free himself from the well because he refuses to abandon the quest for truth and understanding as it has been defined by EuroAmerican science. The grammarian represents the kind of person that refuses to believe that "global warming" is a crisis that all the nations of the world, especially the industrial nations, need to be doing something about. People that are oriented toward the grammarian's worldview have lost sight of the essential meaning of the philosophy of life: how does it enrich us? Grammarian's seem to be oblivious to the essential existential problems facing us in our everyday world. Telling us that before we can begin to deal with any of these essentials we must first correct our grammar, that is, we must first demonstrate without a doubt that the scientific indicators pointing to the dangers of "global warming" are statistically significant. Arguing from this point of view, the grammarian continues to say that the scientific data being collected to support global warming are insignificant compared to the overall geological time scale.

Therefore, like the wandering dervish, those of us that have become concerned about global warming and many other related social and environmental crises would like to tell the grammarian that if our strict adherence to the worldview of EuroAmerican science is more important than the essentials of "getting out of the well," that he had better stay where he is until we have learned to speak properly. Unlike the story of the grammarian and the dervish, we cannot walk away entirely. This is because the growing a number of social and environmental crises are not localized problems that simply affect one person, like the grammarian: they affect all of our lives, consequently there is nowhere on Earth that we can go to escape them.
Today, mankind is weakening and shrinking fast due to the heavy and poisonous load of degenerating mechanical systems (of both social and material varieties) that he is bound to carry day in and day out. In an over-technical world, body and mind no longer exist. Life becomes only a part of a greater technical and chemical thought process. Mathematical equations intrude into human relations. We learn, for example, through the doctrine of guilt by association, the simple equation that the enemies of our enemies have to be our friends and that the friends of our enemies have to be our enemies- as if only simple addition of positive and negative signs exist by which to evaluate human beings.

Any mechanical device, including the hi-tech houses, is a temporary solution of protection to man. The famous Tajmahal(one of the seven wonders in the world), or any palace or a mansion-like modern house is a beautiful superstructure to the eyes. But what if there is a flooding of Tajmahals, palaces, or the modern mansions that are built not merely by natural materials but non-cyclical, poisonous chemical materials and that, by remaining as non-bio degradable there, for generations, become heavy liabilities for nature and the living species, including man, and which actually is the state of the world today. This is like expecting the snakes to carry their periodically discarded skins with many added beautiful frills and other decorations that last much longer than the snakes themselves. The dispute or the problem—as popularly debated in the world today -- is not over the question of this sort developments (vitiations) but over the inequality in the sharing of the real waste –many say this as ‘progress’--when some says the rich becomes ‘richer’ (of vitiations) and poor, poorer.

Perils of Remembering

Forgetting or resting or sleeping is the law of nature. Everything in nature, including man, sleeps, takes rest or forgets for varying intervals. Sleeping or taking rest or forgetting prepares man for better health and growth to newer evolutionary stages in the life. However, it is seen that most of the man-made systems and machines do not take rest or forget which result in their non-growth or stagnation. These man-made systems or machines are the tools of remembering the past that encourage only their replications. By becoming the tool of his own tool, modern man too has become an object of remembering, rendering him restless and thus unable to progress to newer evolutionary stages of life. For millions of years, man had no tool or systems to promote remembering, like the modern development printing and photography. Hence, in the past, human life too did not merely repeat but creatively involved to newer and higher life forms that made man to be the crown of all creations.

However, with the ‘progress ’and development of the tools of remembering and its fast spreading, human life has not only been made merely repeating and dormant but also has reduced man to be the slave of his own systems or as just another tool of remembering.

Today in living by depending on tools of remembering and repetition, man simply cannot afford to forget his past; he is bound to follow other people and the world in life—just mechanically. Remembering mechanically evokes biochemical change in brain and heavy load of remembering renders man simply a mechanical being. A sign/symbol of remembering is not necessarily a "physical stimulus," but can evoke a biochemical change in brain state that is then translated into a linguistic statement. Now the "meaning" of the sign/symbol hasobviously been stored in memory as a "mental image," but the "remembering" of this image is triggered by the sign/symbol.

Modern man is out of touch with the reality of nature, he lives in the world of collective obsessions, the world of systems and fictions with which modern man has surrounded himself. French Philosopher Rousseau give us some hints on the evils of mechanically generated remembering (reflection), a couple of centuries back. He wrote: “Consider the frightful disorders which printing has produced in Europe. Wherever science arises, the moral health of the nation decays. It was even a saying among the philosophers themselves that since learned men had appeared, honest men were nowhere to be found. I venture to declare that a state of reflection is contrary to nature; and that a thinking man (an “intellectual,” as we would now say) is a depraved animal. It would be better to abandon our over rapid development of the intellect, and to aim rather at training the heart and the affections. Education does not make a man good; it only makes him clever–usually for mischief. Instinct and feeling are more trustworthy than reason.”

So long as man remained well anchored to nature, and as nature was in control of all life forms in nature, he, as the child of Mother Nature, got himself evolved and progressed to be the crown of all creation. But once man began to take control of nature and his evolution by getting himself mechanically de-linked from nature, with the development of modern science, and started sailing into the turbulent seas (terrains) of nature in his mechanically built mega ship, man has started to feel that he has been abandoned in the high seas like the master-abandoned Alsatian dog or an abandoned broiler children

We have critically challenged and altered the millions of years long stable and unchallenged status quo of nature, which will surely have its massive repercussion that may not only challenge and alter the status quo of the challenger of nature but also may not leave any of its trace to survive so that we may not pose another challenge to nature.

Man sleeps well under the sovereignty of Nature

In any system, natural or man-made, the leader or the controller does not sleep; only the led, the controlled sleeps, Man sleeps; nature does not stop working, it does not stop controlling or leading the development in nature.

Man cannot survive without sleep and he cannot sleep without belief or dependency on nature. Therefore man cannot survive without dependency or belief in the goodness and sovereignty of nature which most people explain in different names; some regard nature as their God.

For billions of years, nature controlled everything in nature, including man, and so man had sound sleep and no much basic problems that threatened his existence, as a species. But the problem today is that man has no sound sleep because he has suddenly taken over the charge of leadership and control from nature, with a promise to control even nature itself. And this sleeplessness -- in the fast life of today, man in said to have no time to take his time, for the leader controller cannot sleep -- is endangering his survivability faster.

Man’s security and development, which nature maintained by the mechanism of values in society that resulted in his evolution as the ‘pride and crown of all creations’ , were automatic in operation for millions of years. However once man took control not only of his own security and development but also of other species and started only lib service to values in society and began to depend on paid security and development (which only money can guarantee), human security and development suddenly became manual and mechanical. But the crux of the problem is that man can guarantee even this fragile and mechanical security and development only up to a point so far as money can keep its, mechanical value and attraction. The moment money ceases its charm, human security and development, as a consequence of this unnatural interference, will end up in the hands of man’s own evil destructive forces—namely the machines.

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."
--German philosopher (1788 - 1860)

Man Market and Machine: Some Food for Thought

Every man-made mechanism is a toy of man; modern science is only just the theory behind this mechanism. That mechanization has come to stay as a fundamental system of human society today is not the fault of its creators but that of its foolish followers. For, a toy is just a tool for the moment's pleasure--escape—which, on the other hand, is foolery or damage to the basic faculties if practiced for long and on a wider scale.

Techniques of modern science may not be as harmful for the individual human beings to practice as they are for the whole society, for the individual always has an option to fall back on the society or on the nature whenever he happens to be thus in trouble, whereas the whole society has none such options, especially at a time when there is no such thing as a natural nature, except an artificial or highly polluted nature, to fall back on . Modern science was not as harmful and suicidal to the whole human society and even to the planet today as when it was practiced only by a `nation of shopkeepers' at its start in modern era, a couple of centuries back.

A small example of this wanton foolery, among thousands such examples, is the foolery of behind the technique of modern fast food culture that is rendering almost 1/3rd of the present global population OBESE which goes on making man infertile and leading to other widespread, incurable degenerative diseases and death—just as the modern foolery of the soil with the technique of chemical fertilizers and pesticides goes on rendering the soil too infertile and the eventual death of soil all over the globe.

Discovery of a degenerated mindset due to another affliction—another foolery of modern society (a by-product of modern science-market mindset) called democracy—is a survey-based socialization process in which the character of the mass is used as the model, especially by the market. That in democracy, if the majority can be fooled then it is right to be fooled; if majority suffers from a problem then it is no longer a problem; if majority is in ruin then to be in ruin is the right, etc. No wonder, today's businesslike advice as, `be positive', has almost become a catchy, popular message and a password for reaping `success stories' in modern society!

But only the modern market mandarins can tempt you with such perverted versions of optimism today. Numbers has never solved great questions of the society. "Even if fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing", wrote Anatole France. And, at last, when man has fallen ill, because of this long foolery, market has taken it only as a windfall—no matter it (market economy)is the leader of man today. For, behind the spread and exploitation behind this foolery was market, always—be it the `colonization' by the `nation of shopkeepers' at its start or the present market economy leadership today as it shouts and cry for more and more globalization. Let us now conclude the story of MODERN foolery—modern man claims it as his `achievement'-- like this: what man could not `achieve' in millions of years modern man `achieved' in just a few hundred years—his near extinction, as a species.

Today, to put up with this foolery syndrome in modern science any longer can never be in the realm of man with a grain of common sense. Those who know this reality and yet consider themselves as `worldly wise' should bear in mind that their effort for the moment's escape—their unwillingness to compromise their statuesque—is proving a catastrophic foolery not only for `others'(for the whole mankind) but also the fact that this `others' include themselves.

Man of nature will inherit the Earth
Man of nature is the richest man on earth and he, through his children and coming generations, will inherit the earth ever after. We measure one's richness when his richness can guarantee the continuity of stability, health, freedom and values, the security of himself and his future generations.

And the man of machine, be he the present six billion or just only six in numbers, is sure to meet the reactions of his own actions—as is already visible—and his premature death as his growing weakness and encroaching degeneration of almost all his faculties, shows. Ownership and enjoyment of the services of a plethora of machines only prove one's weakness to live without these modern `inconvenience'; they don't basically show his power, richness or clout. Man of nature like all other species lived millions of years without these machines and he may live another similar period without these. John

Experts and Master Parasites

Professionals, middlemen and experts form the largest chunk
of parasites and render this age an era of weeds

The easiest method to identify the leading trend of a particular culture or age is to identify the most successful trend of that culture or age. In almost every modern event, we can trace a common syndrome, a mechanical sort of knowledge working as the fundamental behind all modern trends which can be eventually identified as PROFESSIONALISM. As the ‘mind’ behind every modern ‘success story’, the new code word, professionalism today is the much sought-after pre-occupation of all modern trends.

Be it in arts or in sciences, in sports or in politics, in fundamental sciences or in applied sciences, in philosophy or in theology, professionalism by all means has emerged as the only route to get to the top in an age that is technically managed by folk wisdom. Experts and professionals, today, are the top notches who have emerged as the new idols and the common factor in almost all modern success stories, particularly, in the advanced nations. Every enterprise, national or multinational, runs head over heels in recruiting the top professional for every strategic job.
Overspecialization—the supreme strategy of the parasitical-elite class—is over 2000 years old. This is a major strategy that is part of the AC System. It enabled criminal-minded rulers to control world populations for millennia without opposition Roman leaders divided knowledge and the professions into specialized fields that were cut off from the totality of knowledge. By doing this, the leaders blocked everyone from integrating knowledge. The unrestricted integration of knowledge would have enabled citizens to see right through their leaders' false power. Certainly, the leaders controlled the food and money supply in order to make everyone's physical survival dependent on the Establishment. And by dividing knowledge, they were able to conquer everyone.

What about citizens with highly powerful minds? What happened to those who had the potential to see through their leader's Plato-based frauds? How did criminal-minded leaders stop those powerful minds that could potentially collapse the rickety superstructure of false power? Simple. The leaders specialized everyone, especially the geniuses. By locking the mathematical and scientific geniuses into tiny realms of knowledge, all threats were effectively removed. Roman leaders were able to rule for centuries without opposition.Today, the parasitical-elite class continues to use this master strategy. A close look at the universities reveals that knowledge and careers are divided into increasingly narrower ranges that are cut off from the rest of human knowledge. Overspecialization reigns supreme in today's colleges, universities, careers, and jobs.Yet, an even closer look at this situation reveals the shrewdness of today's leaders. The leaders recruit the smartest, most intelligent children from grade school and integrate them into the AC System when they are twelve years of age or younger.

For example, today's leaders give tests to grade school children. They identify who the smartest children are based on the test results. Once they identify those children with the most powerful minds, they offer them scholarships and paid summer camps at prestigious universities. Once there, leaders feed the bright children Platonic and Kantian ideas. As those children are guided into dishonest idea systems a la Plato, Kant, Hegel, Marx, and others, they become trapped in a ring of corrupt ideas. By doing this, those who are a potential threat to the AC System are rendered harmless. Moreover, some transmogrify into Establishment servants; they become statist politicians, problem-causing lawyers, liberal journalists, and pseudo intellectuals.

Professionalism under attack
Today people sense that something terribly is wrong with our man-made mechanical systems. They believe there are too many designers, plotists, machinationists, experts and professionals in every field in the world today. There's a reason people hate them. It's because they have a monopoly on what rightfully belongs to everyone in human society. For example, they, like lawyers, have an economic interest in generating and prolonging problems and conflict in society. Laws--or rather the machinations of laws—are to experts and lawyers what fishing rods are to fishermen. What if there is flooding of fishers? An ideal example is the case of superfluity of laws and lawyers in modern society.

Mankind today needs to de-professionalize the human society, as then American Vice President J. Danforth Quayle, remaked:"Clearly, we need to de-lawyer our society." The nuanced version of this diversion argument was put forward in 1983 by Derek Bok. Derek C. Bok, in A Flawed System (1983). He wrote: "A massive diversion of exceptional talent into pursuits that often add little to the growth of the economy, the pursuit of culture, or the enhancement of the human spirit." Of late, however, the trend changed dramatically. Even in Western societies, recently, public opinion is increasingly dominated by unreflecting prejudice and an unwillingness to trust experts and professionals, even when they come with, what they claim, ‘factual evidence’. Experts no longer command respect, and polls show that the only scientists the public seem to trust are those who work for environmental pressure groups.

As if there is acute paradigm conflict, professionalism is increasingly coming under attack today, as Michael Ellner put it: “Everything is upside down in today’s world. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, major media destroy information and priests destroy spirituality". Members of the profession are today part of the market-led society they live in and when their values are no longer seen as credible or relevant in terms of money then they adopt the reigning society's values - or even that of the marketplace. For example, many doctors in the USA now do MBA's and become businessmen.

What are professional clowns? They are human beings that have tapped into the AC system first identified by Plato and then developed by Augustine, Machiavelli, Kant, Hegel, Marx, Keynes, Galbraith, and others. Professional clowns have figured out that by removing the essence of human beings—productive effort—they can usurp their way to unearned power, prosperity, and prestige. The essence of human beings always was and always will be productive effort: producing more values than one consumes. But those who consume far more values than they produce lose their humanity. They destroy their human nature and become humanoid clowns.
Such self-made clowns survive by creating chaos. That chaos arises from an endless stream of illusions and deception. As those illusions obscure the minds of human beings, humanoid clowns move in with force-backed agents to drain productive people everywhere. And those illusions make the draining of value producers appear necessary, moral, legal, and just.

Professional politicians, armed bureaucrats, political prosecutors, Establishment lawyers, biased judges, some academe, many journalists, high-ranking clerics, and fake businesspeople are professional clowns. They use the AC System to usurp ever-greater chunks of money and power from the only person with real power: the honest, value-producing individual—from the landscape gardener to the computer software mogul. “A nation as badly governed as America today is by professional politicians who may not know the term professional is an encomium when applied to apparachits like Rollins and Jordan”. Newsweek columnist George F. Will wrote on the American political scene referring to the Ross Perot election campaign in 1990 in the hands of seasoned professional.

Doing a critical look at salaried professionals and the soul-battering system that shapes their lives another American colomnist and author Jeff Schmidt addresses the tail end of this question in his book Disciplined Minds. He writes: “The status of ‘professional’ in America indicates to the masses that you have made something of yourself. You have become one of the best and the brightest. But what sort of Faustian deal had to be made to get there? The “best and the brightest” Americans, as historian Howard Zinn has pointed out, are the people who have engineered atrocities like the Vietnam War. More recently, these engineers have been manufacturing the consent of the two biggest American historical events so far in the 21st century: the farcical 2000 U.S. presidential election and the ambiguous terror of the War on Terrorism”. The major problems in the US system have arisen because the market has successfully overridden an already degenerate professionalism. Professional people have been complicit with the market in doing this. Medicine as a profit making business became legitimate in the USA at least long before corporate chains were founded. Professionalism has the most subservient in history because the market has triumphed. The market has succeeded financially, as it defeated human society, because professionalism fully surrendered. Why is this degeneration affecting professionalism to such suicidal level? Is professionalism inherently rudderless and basically evil? This study finds that it is.

Zeroing in on professionalism
After doing it for 20 years I left my profession in 1988, to find solutions to problems which, I came to understand, are being generated by none other than what we call professions and which are indeed the main problems of mankind today. That is, anything that we do by way of a profession seemed to end up problems for the society, in due course.
Strangely it was at a time when professionalism was riding high, especially in the developed societies, where it is being considered as the only panacea to solve their problems and achieve what they call 'progress’. The fact that I started fight professionalism seemed much outlandish, if not a bit eccentric idea, in the mainstream worldviews in the developed societies, let alone in a third world society like India which on the other hand is desperately trying to emulate and catch up with the developed, particularly the West.

Although I was fighting against the whole world on this idea single-handedly, I could however see the world simply being passive humanly and active only mechanically, which slowly started to vindicate my views. For I know the recent historical fact that when 99% of human race fight the world almost single-handedly, it is the rest one percent, who constitute the institutionalized world of the establishment, comprising the market force and these experts and professionals, that controls the whole world.

With most of the subsequent global events and developments vindicating my theses, every passing year made me more and more confident and convinced of this line of thinking. Branding PROFESSIONALISM as the number one problem of modern man, I was the first author in the world to come out with a book against professionalism. Released by then Indian Prime Minister Chandra Sekhar in January 1991, and reported and reviewed by the national press, including then American ambassador to India, and some prominent authors, Story of Man--Layman (1990) later proved to be a document of prophetic accuracy, as this book predicted almost all major global events that took place from 1991 till today. What immediately provoked me to come out with this book in 1990 was a major global event that was happening in the late 80s: The East European Revolution of 1989, which I could make out simply as the degeneration of top grade professionalism.

Marxism emerged and succeeded in the world primarily as the result of an anti-incumbency factor to then long prevailing capitalism that then was centered around big landed gentry and, to a lesser extent, big industrialists. Marxism subsequently came out victorious in the world threatening capitalism from its base and empowered two of the three greatest super powers in the world, namely, the former Soviet Union and China, as it swelled to every nook and corner of the world, including the great capitalist nations. But Marxism cannot and will not overstep capitalism simply because Marxism is there only because of capitalism. For Marxism is only a by-product of capitalism. Later, the real challenge to Marxism came, as an anti-incumbency factor, not from capitalism but something that encompassed both capitalism and communism, namely, professionalism. It actually was the result of beginning of degeneration of professionalism then in Marxism which is SCIENTICIF SOCIALISM just as capitalism which is SCIENTIFIC COMERCIALISM.\

Science of Professionalism
Now let us examine the common attributes of the following categories of people, put together, as a single class: the managers, the businessmen, the experts and consultants like doctors, engineers and lawyers, the career artists, the career sportsmen, the professional writers and journalists, the career politicians, the bureaucrats, the professional thieves, the professional killers, the prostitutes etc.In his book World Without Cancer author G. Edward Griffin exposes how corrupt politics and professionals join together to prevent real cancer cures—herbals, certain natural minerals and other cheap nature’s products-- from reaching the public and which incur no money in prevention. He writes: “Once you've got cancer you'll pay anything to try to stay alive. Cancer treatment is therefore a booming business, and cancer prevention is nowhere. That is the basic dynamic of the debate. Cancer surgeons can achieve the status of rock stars among their peers. Those who advocate prevention will most likely find themselves without funding, ridiculed and despised by the chemical industry, the pesticide industry, the asbestos industry, the oil industry and all their minions -- lawyers, bankers, engineers, reporters, professors, and politicians – who make a fat living off those who pump out cancer-causing products and dump out cancer-causing by-products, akin to toxic waste”. In one of German writer Berthold Brecht’s most well-known plays about Galileo Galilei's fight, we will meet such people of our time: professionals and business people who are very much aware of the truth, but nevertheless call it a lie and want to prohibit it, just for one reason: to make profit!

Thus all these people come under a single category called professionals. Besides, they all have certain common characteristics and attributes in their pursuits of ‘success’ in their respective fields. And surprisingly, as can be expected, the common characteristics and attributes, of modern experts and professionals, have most things in common with the common characteristics and attributes of MODERN SCIENCE.

Today, those who matter in the society, namely, the politicians, the industrialists, the bureaucrat, the experts, and the professionals of all hues, including thieves, terrorists and hired killers and the people behind the religion judiciary and media hierarchies, the heroes and celebrities of all fields etc, all have come to form a successful and well-knit clique in modern society--we call them the elite group and have come to exist as a class of their own no matter they belong to different religions- thanks to the singular global market force hooking them all as the players and actors doing the different roles of the same story and drama. Although the purpose and roles originally envisioned by the society for these different set of these professionals and leaders may be to serve 99 percent of the rest people of their respective class / caste / region / religion etc, these ‘privileged’ class, that form much less than one percent of the human race today, exist as a complimentary and supplementary constituent among themselves, particularly at a time when the whole society is passing through an advanced stage of decay and degeneration.

Professionals do not allow the decay or change in the natural evolutionary process. Through reforms and refinement, professionalism make the social system mechanical, permanent and unchanging. It is professionalism that makes capitalism tick and the social system do not decay to meet its natural anti-thesis. Thus modernism, the refined and reformed form of capitalism, has become the most unchanging and the most orthodox and reactionary social system is human history. The tragic result is that, instead of the man-made system decaying, the highly professionalized system makes humans, nature and other natural species ‘decay’. We experience this development when we see most of the plants and diverse species in nature shrinking fast and going extinct.

Builders of a close-ended society
Another vital fact confronting the modern world is the discovery of the method of training professionals, who specialise in particular regions of thought and thereby progressively add to the sum of knowledge within their respective limitations of subject. About the dangers of specialist training, ALFRED NORTH WHITEHEAD, wrote in Science and the Modern World: “In consequence of the success of this professionalizing of knowledge, there are two points to be kept in mind, which differentiate our present age from the past. In the first place, the rate of progress is such that an individual human being, of ordinary length of life, will be called upon to face novel situations which find no parallel in his past. The fixed person for the fixed duties, who in older societies was such a godsend, in the future will be a public danger.”
In the second place, the modern professionalism in knowledge works in the opposite direction so far as the intellectual sphere is concerned. The modern chemist is likely to be weak in zoology weaker still in his general knowledge of the Elizabethan drama, and completely ignorant of the principles of rhythm in English versification. It is probably safe to ignore his knowledge of ancient history. Of course, these are all general tendencies; for chemists are no worse than engineers, or mathematicians, or classical scholars. Effective knowledge is professionalized knowledge, supported by a restricted acquaintance with useful subjects subservient to it. This situation has its dangers. It produces minds in a groove. Each profession makes progress, but it isprogress in its own groove. Now to be mentally in a groove is to live in contemplating a given set of abstractions. The groove prevents straying across country, and the abstraction abstracts from something to which no further attention is paid. But there is no groove of abstractions which is adequate for the comprehension of human life. Thus in the modern world, the celibacy of the medieval learned class has been replaced by a celibacy of the intellect which is divorced from the concrete contemplation of the complete facts. Of course, no one is merely a mathematician, or merely a lawyer. People have lives outside their professions or their businesses. But the point is the restraint of serious thought within a groove. The remainder of life is treated superficially, with the imperfect categories of thought derived from one profession. The dangers arising from this aspect of professionalism are great, particularly in ourdemocratic societies. The directive force of reason is weakened. The leading intellects lack balance. They see this set of circumstances, or that set; hut not both sets together. The task of coordination is left to those who lack either the force or the character to succeed in some definite career. In short, the specialised functions of the community are performed better and more progressively, but the direction lacks vision. The progressiveness in detailonly adds to the danger produced by the feebleness of coordination.
An era of WeedsProfessionals and experts form the largest chunk of parasites and render this age an era of weeds

As the parasites and the weeds, professionals survive at the cost and strength of the natural man, the common man or the layman. The natural man or the tribal can exist independently with the same status and harmony with nature as they have been living for ages. Even today if they are not ‘helped’, ‘aided’ or ‘developed’– which otherwise is disturbance in their harmonious evolution with nature––they will be far better of than they are today. But the regime of experts and professionals (loosely grouped in modern society as ‘developed’) cannot however exist independently. The very terms ‘developed’ is relative to non-developed and they do a one-up game –exploitations--on the natural humans categorizing them as ‘non-developed’. Thus they are a highly dependent lot on the so-called ‘non-developed’ for their being ‘developed’. In other words, professionals and experts are some sort of parasites in nature and have become a costly liability to common man and the man of nature.

Expertise is all about the study of the natural phenomena and duplicating it into finer models forms in controlled environment so much so that the man-made models revel and replaces the natural models. It is an indirect process in which the expert, professional play the middlemen and, in which process, common man and layman act as the buffer, target or consumer. The concept ‘developed’ is all about developing expertise of exploitation. Scientifically, professionals are the army of operators of such an economy, and exploitation is the only logical process. The world of professionals and experts always serve the highest bidders who naturally are what we call developed nations or the MNCs’. As the strong and dominant weeds in a garden of the once healthy natural plants, professionals and experts have at last replaced the natural plants; the garden itself is ending up as a garden of weeds. Now some stray natural plants, here and there, look bizarre and are mistakenly taken for new types of weeds –– just as the conditions of age old values and the ground realities today look like the new un-realities and new fictions––creating a situation of facts ending up stranger than fictions.

Modern psychiatry and the problems of chronic mental diseases
Why it is widely established that modern psychiatry is not in the best interest of the human race? Today most psychiatry physicians believe that they are faced with an increasing number of seemingly incurable mental and nervous diseases. . One strategy employed by those members of the medical profession unwilling to throw up their hands in despair (most of them prominent neurologists and psychiatrists today) is to label these disorders "degenerative. Once an individual suffering from such an ailment is relegated into the category "degenerate," all medical responsibility cease. No physician could "cure" a patient who was part of an inherently diseased strain of the human race. This degeneration theory enabled physicians to explain their obvious lack of success in curing mental disorders; degeneration allowed the practitioner to classify certain social parasites and social misfits as belonging to a pathological strain of the human race. The question involved is whether the physical and mental development of the human race, upon which the continuation of all cultural progress depends, is presently advancing or declining.

All social progress is a function of physical and mental improvement. The ongoing industrialization and urbanization, that have reached even the remotest part of the planet earth, not only effect profound changes in the social and economic structure of the ‘global village’ but also precipitate myriad serious social tensions and problems that, owing to the planet’s commercially competitive and the market-dependent political foundation, often threatened to upset the very stability of the modern society. Evolution is an ongoing process in respect of the body, intellect and society of humankind. Whether the continuing process of organic and social development resulted in further perfection or improvement, or its opposite, degeneration, depended first and foremost on the efficient operation of natural selection. Here my contention is that modern civilization and its social institutions impeded the efficacy of natural selection to such critical extent that today mankind, as a whole, is on the verge of extinction due to the chronic mental, physical and social degeneracy. Here the concern is the growing number of individuals troubled by nervous diseases as a consequence of the imbalance between the demands placed upon the nervous system by modern civilization and the nervous system's inability to effectively cope with the resulting stress. The natural nervous system is too ineffective to keep up with the fast pace of the highly mechanized commercial society.

Today there is no much biosphere left to sustain the natural life forms it fosted since millions of years. The constant modern human abuse of fragile ecosystems using the highly manipulative machines and hi-tech mechanical systems has left the once live biosphere as a dead one and replaced it with what may be called a ‘mechanosphere', which is a ‘live’ sphere only for machines or machinekinds and not for mankind. Thus the ongoing modern civilization imposed a serious restraint upon the efficacy of natural selection for humankind. Today the whole mankind is under the firm grip of degeneration. Degeneration thus is an anthropological question for which political solution, rather than any purely medical solution, is the need of the hour.http://www.fireflysun.com/book/john.php
